Sandy and Environmental Stochasticity

In class we've talked about environmental stochasticity and population growth rate--the random fluctuations in environment that can affect births and deaths.  Hurricane Sandy was one of those events.  If you're a Eastern Towhee living in New Jersey coastal scrub, it's going to be a bad year.  Check out these visualizations of changes along the Jersey coast.
